Signs that I need a new hobby
Me: Hmm, you know, I’m in the mood for a game of Mahjong.
*Realizes I’m playing Mahjong as I speak.*
Me: …Oh.
CONGRATULATIONS! You just committed a crime. What was it?
Birdy used a tank to kidnap 5 people. Birdy was never caught.

You know, I got talks about the whole “going through puberty” thing from my mom. But I never actually got “The Talk”.
Instead, I mostly watched Seinfeld as a kid and whenever I asked my mom what a certain thing they were talking about was, my mom would look at me, go “What do you think?” and give me a wink.
Part of my homework question tells me that I can assume the variable v = 0.
Then in one of the given equations I’m instructed to use, there’s a part that instructs me to calculate (1/v).
I’m not doing anything that would help that make sense.

Music associated with childhood.
By that, I mean music that you listened to so often in childhood or stands out so much that you can help but think back to sometime in childhood when you hear that music again.
In my case, it’s usually what kind of music my parents were playing.
- Flight of the Valkyries — Because my dad played it a lot and I liked it a lot. I thought it was epic and I still do. Not that I knew what the word meant at the time.
- Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones — Another one my dad played a lot. I didn’t really pay attention to the lyrics at the time due to my age, but it was a unique tune that was so well done and it just stuck in my head.
- Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel — I actually don’t remember if I heard it that often in childhood or if it just reminds me of it. But whenever I hear the song, I’m just reminded of those long quiet car rides home in the middle of the night after something large and eventful, such as coming from the airport after a long trip or coming back from camping. And I would just sit there quietly, taking in the scenery, inside and outside the car.
- We Three Kings — Even though my mom sometimes took me to church as a child, I’m not religious in any way, and as far as I know, neither is the rest of my family. But there was this one time in which me and the rest of my siblings got really upset about something. I don’t remember what, but I didn’t think there was anything to calm me down. Then my mom took us upstairs started playing something on the MP3 to calm us down. And it worked. It was that song. To this day, that’s one of my favorite Christmas songs, even though I don’t really like Christmas anymore.
I don’t remember any more right now. I guess those stand out the most. I do remember something else that’s from a famous opera, but I don’t know what the opera nor what the piece is called.
